Meta Titles and Descriptions for Law Firm Pages: 15 Templates That Rank

Search analytics dashboard — meta title and description SEO templates.

Meta titles and descriptions are the highest-leverage SEO real estate on your site. They are shown directly in Google's search results, they influence click-through rate (which feeds back into rankings), and they take five minutes per page to write.

Yet most law firm sites we audit have generic auto-generated titles ("Home | Smith Law Firm") and empty or duplicate descriptions. That is free SEO left on the table.

Here are 15 templates that consistently rank, grouped by page type. Copy, adapt, ship.

Rules that apply to every page

 1. Target keyword in the first 60 characters of the title. After that Google truncates.
 2. Never duplicate. Every page needs a unique meta title. Duplicate titles are the #1 issue we find in law firm SEO audits.
 3. Include the city (or state) on every page. Local intent applies to your entire site.
 4. Descriptions must sell the click, not summarize the page. Rank higher does not matter if nobody clicks. Include a benefit and a call to action.
 5. Do not keyword-stuff. "Personal injury attorney Houston Texas car accident lawyer" reads as spam and Google's Helpful Content update demotes it.
 6. Match the query, not the brand. For most pages, the client's search intent leads the title. Your firm name goes at the end.
 7. Update yearly. Adding "2026" to a "How much does X cost" article gets you fresh-content clicks.

Bilingual pages need bilingual meta

Do not translate the English meta literally into Spanish. Spanish search queries have different phrasing:

 • English: "personal injury attorney Houston"
 • Spanish: "abogado de accidentes en Houston" (not "abogado de lesión personal")

Do keyword research in Spanish before writing Spanish meta. See our bilingual website guide for the full framework.

Structured data multiplies the impact

Meta tags win the click. Structured data wins the rich result. Every law firm page should carry at minimum:

 • LocalBusiness / Attorney schema (home + contact)
 • FAQPage schema (FAQ pages, and any page with a real FAQ section)
 • Article schema (blog posts)
 • BreadcrumbList schema (all inner pages)

Combined with good meta, structured data lifts CTR by 15–40% on target keywords.

The 15-minute weekly SEO habit

Every week, pick five pages. Read the current meta title and description. Ask:

 • Would I click this if it appeared in my search?
 • Does it match what a real prospect would type?
 • Is it unique across the site?
 • Does it include the city?

Rewrite anything that fails those tests. Compounded across 90 days, this alone can lift organic traffic 20–40%.
