What we were solving for.

The crypto discovery category is loud, template-driven, and dominated by data-first products that assume every user is already a professional trader. Coinsiren's team wanted to enter this category from the opposite angle — a considered, brand-forward product that treats retail crypto users as intelligent adults without drowning them in noise.

The technical challenge sat alongside the design one: real-time price and exchange data for thousands of tokens, a token detail schema that could accommodate wildly different information depth per coin, an alerting system users would actually trust, and a community layer that felt native rather than bolted on.

The audience skewed South Korean. That meant Korean-first content strategy, KRW price display alongside USD, and a design language that reads correctly in Hangul without feeling like a translation of a Western product.

How we built it.

We started with the token detail page — the most information-dense screen in the product — and worked outward. Getting the coin information schema right unlocked every downstream surface: the homepage, exchange tracking, community, and alerts.

Frontend built in Next.js with an aggressive Core Web Vitals budget: LCP under 2 seconds even on token pages loading 40+ market data points. Backend caching layered aggressively for popular tokens with graceful fallback for long-tail queries. The community layer used a lightweight comment + reaction system, not a full forum — the goal was social signal, not another Reddit.

Alerts run on a queue-based architecture — users create rules (price crossings, volume spikes, listing changes), rules are evaluated against a stream of market data, and matches fanout to email + in-app + optional Telegram. The whole alerting layer is monitored end-to-end so users trust the notifications they get.

What shipped.

Coinsiren shipped and launched with a distinct visual identity in a category where visual sameness is the default. The team gets a codebase that ships new coin detail templates in hours, not weeks, and an admin panel that lets non-engineers manage listings and community moderation directly.

The client's feedback after launch was that the product reads as confidently as the strategy behind it — a specific compliment that captures what the entire engagement was optimising for.
